From Ajuba Solutions:
This is the Macintosh port of the high-level scripting language Tcl/Tk. Tcl is an extensible scripting language, with ports to Windows, Mac OS, and most flavors of Unix. It also features a GUI-building toolkit (the Tk part), which allows developers to quickly assemble full-featured GUIs and have them run with a native look and feel on all the supported platforms. Another strong point of Tcl is a powerful socket implementation, which makes writing client-server apps quite easy. The Macintosh version also has the ability to edit resource files, to make Tcl scripts into double-clickable apps, and to execute AppleScripts from within your Tcl code.
Version 8.3.1 is the first patch release of the 8.3 version. It contains more than 110 fixes from the bug database, not including fixes not registered in the database. You can see a complete list of what's new in 8.3 here. Tcl/ Tk is covered under an open source, free, BSD-style license, which you can review here.
