Can't wait to see all the hacks and interference devices that will emerge once this is declared standard. Why woudn't you...just what a $25 rfid jamming device placed secretly underneath a shelf will do to a $50 million inventory. Make it absolutley worthless. Oh yeah, trillions will be spent implementing it and then trillions more troubleshooting it (bet that info didn't make it into the business benefits of rfid)The reality is this isn't going to save anyone money and will end up costing the consumer more and more for each product. What about returns that have the rfid removed/burned when a person buys the,? Do they need to be sent back to the manufacturer or can a substitute tag be placed on them. Talk about a complete nightmare about to fall upon us.
