Singapore-based contract manufacturer Flextronics has purchased SEK 18 million (US$1.95 million) worth of e-business software from Intentia to streamline the operations of its telecommunications arm.

Movex, Intentia's flagship product, comprises applications such as Enterprise Management, Customer Relationship Management, Supply Chain Management, Business Performance Measurement and Value Chain Collaboration.

Movex will be deployed in 300 locations where Flextronics Network Services operates, Sweden-based Intentia announced Thursday.

Flextronics Network Services provides network consulting, design, development, integration and maintenance services to telecommunications companies.

"The primary goal for Flextronics Network Services is to speed up order processing," said Intentia spokesperson Thomas Ahlerup when contacted.

Flextronics Network Services' 6,000 field technicians worldwide will be equipped with handheld computers to run Movex remotely. The first phase of the project will go live in the first quarter of 2003, said Ahlerup.

Other Movex customers include Nippon Paint Singapore, Malaysia Milk, Kohoku Electronics Singapore, Sunshine Bakeries, Sumitomo Metal Mining, Oji Paper Co Ltd, Sanyo Semiconductor Thailand and Thai Cane Paper.

The reaction to a report issued Tuesday by Flurry Analytics managed to completely overlook some interesting news--the Android-based Motorola Droid outsold the original iPhone over the same period of time following their respective launches--to focus instead on the sales numbers for the Nexus One.
