Building Open-Standard Portlets for Location Information

Overview

As integration technologies such as portals and intelligence data become critical pieces of the business infrastructure, being able to share the information used and the applications (portlets) build becomes utterly essential (if not legally required). Now a days people not only have all the ingredients needed for creating new applications that adhere to open standards but also have framework standards, such as OASIS Web Services for Remote Portlets (WSRP) and Java Specification Request 168 (JSR 168), that make it possible to integrate existing technologies and data into new applications.
