Data Storage for HPC: An InfiniBand Perspective

Overview

This presentation explores several methods of attaching fast and large storage to InfiniBand (IB) Technology-connected clusters. The presentation describes which storage architectures, techniques, and vendors supply solutions for the typical applications used on these InfiniBand clusters. Technologies such as RDMA, DDR and QDR, and open driver software initiatives such as OpenFabrics will be previewed along with the impact on InfiniBand's future in HPC. The presentation highlights improvements in IB-storage for financial analytics and Computer Aided Engineering (Automotive CAE) applications.
