Tackling Generali Insurance's Email Challenges With Symantec

Overview

One million emails every month, saved in personal folders by 2,500 users. This combination of factors was placing excessive strain on the mail server at Generali (Switzerland) Holding, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Assicurazioni Generali S.p.A. Trieste. B-Source is responsible for the insurance company's decentralized infrastructure and with support from its integration partner SQL, deployed Symantec Enterprise Vault. This easy-to-use email archiving system allowed users to make fast full text searches. As a result, Generali users are more productive and more satisfied with the system. Thanks to the Enterprise Vault solution, B-Source is saving approximately 500GB of expensive primary storage, which in turn is reducing costs by at least 50,000 CHF (US$41,000).
