Founded in 1971, Cinepolis is Latin America's largest chain of movie theaters and the fifth largest in the world. Cinepolis wanted to integrate separate financial information systems to attain synergy among various business areas and centralize financial and accounting information to improve administration of the 188 theaters. The challenge was to automate inventory processes to facilitate real-time inventory visibility and updating and reduce processing times for the company's high daily-transaction volume to achieve operational efficiency. Cinepolis integrated systems in a solid IT infrastructure, consolidating financial and human resources information for 188 theaters and centralized financial and accounting information with PeopleSoft Enterprise Financial Management, reducing the cost of data processing time by 3%.
