AmeriVault Case Study: Harford County Public Schools

Overview

Harford County Public Schools (HCPS) has been using computers - and backing up the data on those computers - for decades. Each one of the 51 schools is networked to a central computer center, where a community portal serves both internal and external users. The school system needed to address the security of its large and ever growing footprint of sensitive data, as well as the processes involved for backup and recovery. AmeriVault backs up 1.2 terabytes of data and stores it securely offsite each night. Financials, Human Resource documents, ERP system data, Microsoft SQL server data, and Microsoft Exchange email system data are all backed up automatically.
