Overview

Dublin Bus wanted to capture, store, query, and maintain accurate, up-to-date information on the company's 5,000 bus stops and make it accessible to managers and planners in multiple locations and automate the generation of work requests following damage reports and complete repairs faster and more cost effectively. The challenge was to consolidate bus stop information and non-spatial data and build integrated, cross-department business processes. Dublin Bus worked with eSpatial to deploy Oracle Spatial for a location-based, Web-enabled, data management system for storing and updating bus stop and associated data in a single repository and chose Oracle Spatial for its market leadership, Web-based functionality, and reduced deployment and maintenance costs.
