StoreVault Helps Fugro Pelagos Fill Gaps in Data Management

Overview

Fugro Pelagos is a premier provider of offshore survey services ranging from project consultation to full project management including data acquisition, data analysis and interpretation as well as data integration. The company has about a hundred employees and uses 25 Dell Power Edge servers to store about 80 terabytes of data. At Fugro, scientists have to travel to remote survey locations by air or by sea, and carry all the hardware and software resources needed to collect data. An increasing number of research projects every year resulted in a huge accumulation of data. Fugro Pelagos switched from DAS to NetApp (FAS3050, FAS270 and FAS3020) for their enterprise storage. They wanted similar performance at a significantly lower price for field data.
