whitepaper The Impact of the newly emerging field of Financial Data Quality Management (FDQM) on Group Reporting and Performance Management Processes2007-04-10 14:59:40 Hyperion
Data quality management could be regarded as the less glamorous end of the Reporting Supply Chain (RSC). After all, most of the attention and interest are lavished on the latest portal, reporting tool or dashboard. Yet, mismanagement or neglect of underlying balance information or interfaces can place the integrity of the whole process in jeopardy. In recent years, financial reporting processes have become intertwined with other key management processes such as budgeting, planning, forecasting, scorecarding and analytics to form a broader performance management platform sharing common data structures.
whitepaper N.C. Central University Selects SAS Enterprise BI Server, SAS ETL Server2007-01-05 01:00:23 SAS Institute
As North Carolina Central University (NCCU) rapidly grows in size and stature, the number of time-consuming, ad hoc requests for information has increased dramatically, and the university needed to find a way to quickly and accurately retrieve, analyze and transform data via the Web so their university leaders who depend on this information can make decisions with confidence. They found the clear answer to these challenges in SAS, which is already enabling them to build and access new reports through a simple point-and-click interface. NCCU has selected SAS Enterprise BI Server and SAS ETL Server software.
whitepaper SQL Server 2005 Gives Microsoft IT FeedStore Group Enterprise-Grade ETL and Encryption2007-01-01 01:00:30 Microsoft
When managers at Microsoft Corporation need information, they turn to a repository called FeedStore. As the largest software company in the world, with revenues exceeding U.S.$34 billion, Microsoft has critical need for the 2-terabyte FeedStore database. FeedStore, which pulls data from 39 internal sources and feeds some 500 subscribing applications, was running flawlessly on Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Enterprise Edition. But the company upgraded to SQL Server 2005 in order to take advantage of the next-generation, enterprise-grade features, tools, and enhancements. SQL Server 2005 Integration Services for Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) processes is a major new enterprise-level feature being deployed for FeedStore.

whitepaper Keeping Up With the Times2006-11-08 01:00:18 Oracle
This paper provides an approach to implementing one of the more demanding types of transformations: the dreaded Type 2 Slowly Changing Dimension (SCD). Although this technique may be applicable to other type of transformations, it is particularly useful for the Type 2 SCD. The focus of this paper is the Type 2 SCD, as it is the most effective and most commonly used variety. The Type 2 SCD provides an approach for completely and elegantly tracking history, while conforming to the dimensional model for optimal performance. Although Oracle9i Warehouse Builder (OWB) does not have "Built-in" support for SCD transformations, one can easily implement them within the OWB framework.
