| India's Central Depository Services Limited (CDSL) is responsible for securely storing the ownership records of shares traded on two of the country's largest stock exchanges. Having grown its operations since being established in 1999, CDSL came to realize that its existing email system was unable to provide the performance and security needed for the future. Reliability became an increasing issue as well, with some emails taking as long as two days to arrive. Following a rigorous review process, the organization selected a combination of Microsoft's Exchange 2000 and Internet Security and Acceleration (ISA) Server. Windows 2000 was selected as the operating system, and Active Directory was used to authenticate users and provide overall control of the systems. | |||

HP Helps the University of Colorado Balance Academic Freedom With Secure Information Access | 2006-07-04 05:18:53 | Hewlett-Packard |
| Colleges and universities nationwide are working hard to consolidate and standardize their identity and access-management systems to provide enhanced security, single sign-on ease, and improved efficiency. However, the very nature of university environments - distributed disparate systems and a highly transient user population - often hamper these efforts. The University of Colorado at Boulder is solving critical identity and access-management challenges with HP OpenView Select Access. The solution is at the heart of the university's new CUAccess service, which provides a common access-management resource that university departments can use to authenticate and authorize users for access to Web-based applications and services. | |||

Creating Exchange Users With Excel (Part 2) | 2006-09-20 01:00:17 | TechGenix |
| In the previous paper, the author showed how using VBA can save a person time when bulk adding users into Active Directory and creating Exchange mailboxes for them. However, there are some limitations to that script because some fields only become available when the mailbox is stamped by the Exchange RUS. Also, the script is a one way, a one time deal. This paper will show the reader how to overcome those problems and how to synchronize an Excel sheet with Active Directory. | |||
