TANDBERG and VNC | 2009-06-18 | Tandberg |
| The PC SoftPresenter is a feature of the TANDBERG videoconferencing system that allows you to easily connect the videoconferencing system to your computer using Virtual Network Computing (VNC) over the LAN. This is useful in video meetings when you want to share with everyone something that is displayed on your PC monitor such as a PowerPoint presentation, Internet site or any other type of data. It allows you to see high-resolution images and information at the same time that you hear the comments and feedback of everyone in the meeting. This document is intended to be a resource for implementing and using VNC technology on your TANDBERG Videoconferencing systems.

Web Conferencing for Nonprofits: Technology You Can Use | 2009-01-13 | |
| The nonprofit sector is a rapidly growing sector. Approximately 1.4 million nonprofit organizations are currently registered with the IRS. The figure includes a diverse group of organizations both in size and mission, which range from hospitals and human service organizations to advocacy groups and chambers of commerce. When compared to other sectors of the economy, the nonprofit sector accounts for 5.2 percent of Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and 8.3 percent of wages and salaries paid in the United States. To overcome the challenges of training, communicating, building community and membership and controlling costs, nonprofits are looking to tools that are versatile and scalable; web conferencing software is quickly becoming that tool.

Preserving Video Quality in IPTV Networks | 2008-11-01 | Cisco Systems |
| Growing numbers of service providers are implementing video services over IP networks, and discovering the unique challenges of providing a high quality of experience (QoE) to subscribers. Delivering consistent QoE in packet-switched networks can be a complex proposition due to the high sensitivity of video traffic to packet loss, as well as to delay and jitter. Preserving video quality in IP Television (IPTV) networks that mostly rely on copper access lines poses an even greater challenge. Service providers need intelligent mechanisms in core and distribution networks to prevent congestion that deteriorates video quality, as well as intelligence between the aggregation networks and IP Set-Top Box (STB) to repair packet losses, speed up channel change times and monitor the quality of the subscriber experience.

Video Surveillance Implementation Using FPGAs | 2007-03-01 | Altera |
| Currently, the video surveillance industry uses analog CCTV cameras and interfaces as the basis of surveillance systems. These system components are not easily expandable, and have low video resolution with little or no signal processing. However, the next generation of video surveillance systems will replace these components with newer digital LAN cameras, complex image processing, and video-over-IP routing. They will no longer be simply surveillance camera systems, but also video communication systems. The Internet Protocol (IP)-based structure of the new surveillance systems allows for scalability, flexibility, and cyber security. Various encoding and decoding standards transport the video stream (MPEG4 CODEC is the standard used today).
