Real Time Motion Analysis Toward Semantic Understanding of Video Content | 2005-09-13 03:00:03 |
Hewlett-Packard |
| |
Video motion analysis and its applications have been a classic research topic for decades. This paper explores the problem of real time video semantics understanding based on motion information. The work can be divided into two segments: global/camera motion estimation and object motion analysis. The former involves optical flow analysis and semantic meaning parsing, and the latter involves object detection and tracking.

Using Mobile Communications to Assert Privacy From Video Surveillance | 2007-01-07 01:00:31 |
Hewlett-Packard |
| |
This paper proposes a novel use of mobile communications to permit individuals to assert a preference for privacy from video surveillance. The system, called Cloak, grants an individual the right to prohibit others from distributing video containing their image. The paper presents the system architecture and operation, and demonstrates how the system enhances privacy while requiring no change to existing surveillance technology. Analysis and simulation are used to show that an individual's video privacy can be protected even in the presence of the many sources of error (e.g., unsynchronized clocks, unreliable communications, location error) anticipated in a deployed system.

Verint Video Solutions for Government Facilities | 2005-08-22 03:00:03 |
Verint |
| |
When it comes to securing government facilities, more than people and property are at stake. The very symbols of a nation are also on the line. But, even an army of surveillance personnel cannot keep an eye on all of the potential exposures. To provide real value, video surveillance solutions must deliver real-time intelligence about what matters most - actionable intelligence that equips organizations at all levels of government to more effectively deter terrorism and crime. Verint Video Solutions capture, store, and analyze digital video images to secure government facilities and protect assets and lives.
