The new system not only provides entertainment and Internet connectivity, but it also delivers educational material to patients and families and lets staff access electronic medical records at the bedside. Now, patients and families are better connected to their lives outside the hospital, are more informed about their care, and enjoy better entertainment options. Plus, staff satisfaction is higher.

Customer Success: Hoover City Schools Case Study | 2007-08-22 | Dell |
| Hoover City School District needed a storage solution that could support over 13,100 faculty, staff and student applications such as e-mail, finance and student information databases, the systems management server and web development applications. With a previous direct-attached storage (DAS) environment, they had approximately 30 servers located at several locations throughout the district with 30 different backup devices. The e-mail also was dispersed geographically at different sites, so there was little consolidation.
Hoover chose EqualLogic because of its ease of setup and low cost of ongoing management. The school district had engaged with other vendors recommending complex Fibre Channel solutions who wanted to send the IT department to expensive training courses that cut into valuable time for business operations. Because of its low cost and minimal training requirement, the iSCSI-based PS Series SAN from EqualLogic was the answer to providing Hoover City Schools with consistent IT operations without downtime.
