Getting Ready for Windows PE 2.0

Overview

As work began on Windows Vista, the Windows setup team was focused primarily on building entirely new setup architecture, creating a new imaging tool to help with deployment, and designing a replacement for Remote Installation Services (RIS). But then their attention shifted to the interim Windows PE and Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2) and then to Windows Server 2003 SP1. This meant holding off on their development efforts for Windows PE in Windows Vista for a bit. This paper drills into the key new features.
