Plaza Hotel, the largest hotel in the Brazilian Southern region, was faced with the challenge of centralizing their administration, enhancing customer relationship management (CRM) information, and increasing the quality of services. The challenge was to restructure its information technology (IT) environment across six facilities to allow centralized hotel administration and improved customer relationship management capabilities. To restructure their IT environment, the Plaza Hotel chose the Linux open source operating system (OS) and Intel Xeon and Intel Celeron processor-based platforms to achieve the required performance and reliability.
