Information and Communications Technology Agency of Sri Lanka (ICTA)-Aided PC Ownership Solution

Overview

The e-Sri Lanka vision, championed by the Information and Communication Technology Agency of Sri Lanka (ICTA), aims to harness information and communications technology (ICT) as a lever for economic and social advancement by taking the dividends of ICT to every village, to every citizen and to every business, and re-engineering the way government thinks and works. The challenge was to enable ownership of a complete PC solution for citizens. This was solved by e-Sri Lanka branded PCs based on Intel architecture and Red Hat Linux Operating System.
