Washington Hospital Center (WHC), the largest teaching hospital in Washington, D.C., is at the vanguard of a major public health effort to raise influenza immunization rates among healthcare workers nationwide. The hospital is employing a multipronged approach to ensure a continuous increase in immunization rates among its employees, including the use of mobile, paperless technologies such as a Tablet PC - based solution running Microsoft Windows XP Tablet PC Edition. Designed by Becton, Dickinson and Company (BD), the BD VaxiNet platform reaches employees where they work, obtaining digital informed consent signatures, and health screening data to allow vaccination right on the spot.
