Updating Fibre Channel Expansion Card BIOS With RDM 4.30

Overview

This paper explains how to use IBM Remote Deployment Manager (RDM) 4.30 (or a later RDM version) to update the BIOS on Fibre Channel Expansion Cards in BladeCenter HS20 systems. There are other ways to flash Diagnostics firmware (e.g., with the BIOS diskette, with the UpdateXpress CD, etc.). But using RDM to do this from a remote console on many systems concurrently, without having to visit the systems, is a powerful and easy way to accomplish this task.
