Recent expansion by the Danish Foreign Ministry challenged its need to operate under secure conditions, while using often limited and inconsistent connections. The Ministry urgently needed to adopt new workstation operating systems that offered enhanced security features, communication potential for remote users, and centralized administration. The Ministry upgraded 2,100 workstations to Windows Vista Enterprise, which provides enhanced security, search, and remote access functions.
