James Madison University Pilots Dell-Based Data Collection Solution to Reach Prospective Students

Nestled in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley of Harrisonburg, Virginia, James Madison University (JMU) upholds its mission to help students reach their full potential well beyond their college careers. The JMU admissions team wanted to strengthen communication with prospective students by shortening the time between speaking with high school students at recruiting events and sending follow-up information. The JMU admissions team created a solution using a Dell Latitude notebook computer with a peripheral bar code scanner to scan student driver's license information directly into a Microsoft Access database from recruiting locations.
