Overview
The challenge was providing students in information technology courses with access to the computers and software programs they need to complete hands-on information system assignments. The University of New Mexico Anderson Schools of Management deployed a VMware Workstation solution in a remotely-accessible, virtual student laboratory populated by Dell hardware. As a result students have remote and secure access to course material without the limitations of a physical student laboratory, such as limited hours, sharing machine availability with other students and the complications of multiple operating systems and software programs residing on different machines.
