whitepaper Desktop Virtualization: Implementing Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) With HP2008-03-01 Hewlett-Packard (HP)
The unprecedented pace at which new technology is being introduced into the marketplace is driving an explosion of new ways to compute, communicate and share knowledge. Increases in network reliability and the reduced cost of bandwidth, along with innovations in hardware and new approaches to application management have spawned promising new approaches to personal computing. One such area is "Centralized" computing, often termed "thin client computing". HP collectively refers to these approaches as "Remote Client Solutions". Regardless of the term used, the strategy is to deploy thin client user devices running a lightweight operating system with little or no resident applications. With no hard drive and no moving parts, thin clients are designed to provide 7-10 years of service.

whitepaper Controlling Thin Clients Using Peer-to-Peer Symmetries2008-01-01 Hall of Arts
Hackers worldwide agree that atomic epistemologies are an interesting new topic in the field of stenography, and mathematicians concur. This paper proves the synthesis of object-oriented languages, which embodies the robust principles of algorithms. The focus in this paper is not on whether courseware can be made knowledge-based, heterogeneous, and semantic, but rather on describing a knowledge-based tool for exploring telephony (Abime).

whitepaper An Analysis of Thin Client Computing2008-01-01 Loquinar
This whitepaper looks at thin client computing based on Microsoft Windows 2000 terminal services. It examines what thin client computing is, its architecture, advantages and limitations. The paper also looks at a simple cost analysis of thin verses fat. While some of the benefits and cost savings are still relevant, the focus of the paper is on a true thin client environment using Windows based terminals, not fat or tubby clients connecting to Windows terminal services.

The presenter of this webcast speaks about the key features of remote client solutions and how they can benefit teachers and students alike.
whitepaper Children's Hospital of Philadelphia Leverages Solidcore to Reduce TCO on Thin Client Systems2007-09-26 Solidcore Systems
As the nation's first hospital devoted exclusively to caring for children, The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia CHOP's management team believed in providing computer and internet access to the children in their facility as a means to improve their overall rate of progress during their stay at the hospital. However, they have a large and distributed hospital infrastructure across several sites and buildings with a limited IT staff that is responsible for not only keeping the existing systems up and running securely but also for implementing newer IT initiatives. Based on these requirements, and after a search of available products, CHOP determined that Solidcore's S3 Control was the right solution to enable them to meet their support, security and control goals.

whitepaper Virtual PC-Type Thin Client System2007-09-18 NEC
NEC has developed VirtualPCCenter, a thin client system with a completely new concept that virtualizes integrates entire personal computer environments on servers, and also developed the US100, a dedicated terminal for the system. Features that deserve special mention with regards to the VirtualPCCenter include a diverse range of functions intended to adjust the balance of the load on virtual PCs, as well as to improve operability. Furthermore, the US100 offers an animation playback accelerator capability, considered unsuitable for thin clients, as well as a software phone, featuring a superior sound quality and lower incidence of acoustic delay. This paper introduces features of the VirtualPCCenter and US100.

whitepaper Army Enterprise Thin Client Architecture Standardization for Army Small Computer Program (ASCP)2007-05-31 GTSI
This White Paper is designed to support the Army Small Computer Program's (ASCP), Thin Client Architecture Standardization Program. Contained herein GTSI outline a solution based approach and subsequent methodologies around optimal thin client computing environment deployments to include hardware, software and resource requirements. GTSI is proposing an implementation methodology based on years of experience and adherence to industry proven best practices. Within this draft is outlined the approach, methodologies, materials needed to build a solution, and continued benefits of incorporating such a solution. Through the knowledge and experience this paper allows the Army an ease of use and secure application delivery mechanism while continuing to allow for secure, centralized administration of Army IT assets and tools.
