whitepaper Unified Server Configurator: IT and Systems Management Overview2009-04-07 Dell
Systems management has typically been a key part of the IT administrator's job. Being able to install an operating system, updating firmware to satisfy function and policies requirements, configuring devices and getting the most out of an IT network are integral aspects of this role. Over the years, Dell has provided many tools to assist the administrator. Starting with tools such as DSA, Systems Build and Update Utility, and DTK that shipped on multiple CDs, Dell then developed a single software tool DVD, Systems Build and Update Utility. Storing, retrieving, and using these multiple disks in their many versions has, however, had an increasingly negative impact on Customer Experience.

whitepaper Manufacturer Creates New Products 50 Per Cent Faster With Advanced Embedded System2009-03-01 Microsoft
French manufacturer Jeulin introduced its new computer-aided scientific experimentation device based on the Windows Embedded CE 6.0 operating system. The consol functions like a virtual desktop for data processing and analysis. Jeulin engineers determined that use of Platform Builder for Windows Embedded and 100 per cent access to the Windows Embedded CE 6.0 kernel code could cut time to market by between 45 and 50 per cent, and create a more user-friendly process than Linux.

whitepaper Utilizing SIMD Instructions on the INtime RTOS With the Intel IPP Library2009-03-01 TenAsys
Applying DSPs (Digital Signal Processors) to real-time embedded systems can result in significant performance improvements, especially where complex mathematical algorithms are involved. Algorithms that perform repetitive operations on large data sets are particularly well suited to the application of DSPs. The data to be transformed can be collected and processed in bulk or it can be continuously streamed (sampled) data that must be processed in a finite period of time to generate a real-time control signal. Motion control, image processing, speech recognition, and computer vision applications are some of the many applications that can benefit from the application of DSP hardware.

whitepaper Seismic Recorders Rely on VersaLogic's PC/104-Plus SBC2009-02-01 VersaLogic
Geometrics approached VersaLogic while looking for a PC/104-Plus solution for their application. To support their field use of the units, a small footprint and rugged board-level product was essential. In addition, exceptional reliability and long term availability were critical in order to avoid costly down-time and to ensure a stable product line over time. Lastly, and most importantly, Geometrics required outstanding customer support and engineering assistance to facilitate their design. VersaLogic worked very closely with Geometrics to help them realize their goals. Geometrics selected VersaLogic's Panther board, a PC/104-Plus Single Board Computer, for their application as it had the horse-power, rugged build, and the small size required for their portable device.

whitepaper Making Quality Your Competitive Edge: Introducing Model Driven Validation and Verification Solution for Embedded Systems2009-01-01 IBM
As software designers have significantly improved their design productivity by transitioning to Model Driven Development (MDD), the Testing process has remained largely code-centric. This has created a serious productivity gap, where complex designs can be produced much faster than they can be tested. The presenter of this webcast will show how to close this gap by introducing Modeling to the Testing process and following a Model-Driven Testing (MDT) process. This will allow developers and testers to focus on model level Validation activities while automating code level Verification activities. Moving Testing into a higher level of abstraction while not losing any of the current code based testing activities is the key to being able to turn quality into a competitive edge.
whitepaper AntaresX Mobile Command System Relies on VersaLogic's Cobra, an EBX Single Board Computer2009-01-01 VersaLogic
Emergency equipment such as the AntaresX Mobile Command Center needs high processing power and the reliability of a ruggedized embedded computer to support its mission critical applications. Designing a product with an extended lifetime guarantee was also essential to the engineering design team at Future Concepts. During the design-in phase of the project, Future Concept engineers worked with the VersaLogic sales team and manufacturer's representative firm Gabriel Partners to qualify and specify the Cobra as the heart of this sophisticated communications system. The support that VersaLogic engineers, their representatives and technical sales people were able to provide - and the ability of VersaLogic to deliver quality customized embedded computers on a tight timeline - all helped contribute to the customer's decision to use VersaLogic products.

whitepaper Trek Aerospace and VersaLogic Corp. Soar With New Generation UAV2009-01-01 VersaLogic
Like many OEMs, Trek Aerospace needed an embedded solution with long-term availability and excellent support. VersaLogic's RoHS-compliant Puma platform was selected, as it draws only 5W during operation and less then 800mW in standby mode. With 3 USB ports, 3 COM ports, an LPT port and a 10/100 Ethernet interface, the Puma is appropriate for light-weight, mobile applications where low-power is essential.
whitepaper Medical Device From HemoCleanse Depends on VersaLogic's Reliable Computers2009-01-01 VersaLogic
HemoCleanse, located in West Lafayette, Indiana, designs, develops, manufactures and distributes sorbent-based blood treatment systems. Consisting of a portable core machine and a disposable treatment kit, the machine moves fluids by alternating positive and negative pressure applied to a sorbent suspension in the dialyzer. A customized VersaLogic STD 32 Bus CPU card provides the heart of the control system. It controls the unique hydraulic functions allowing blood to move counter-currently on the inside of a sorbent membrane.
