Aerospace Dynamics International Uses NX CAM to Speed NC Programming for Large, Complex Parts Produced on High-Speed, Five-Axis Machines | 2007-11-01 | siemens |
| Aerospace Dynamics International (ADI) manufactures large components such as aircraft wing spars and bulkheads and panels for the space shuttle's external fuel tanks. Aerospace Dynamics International no longer has time to code intricate machine motion by hand, yet it still needs the control that hand-programming provides. The installation of seven seats of NX CAM gave ADI the combination - fast programming and complete motion control - needed to meet customers' tight delivery schedules. NX CAM's developer, Siemens PLM Software, pioneered High-Speed Machining (HSM) technology, working in conjunction with machine tool and controller manufacturers. For jobs that require HSM on five-axis machines, NX CAM has become ADI's software of choice.

Pratt & Whitney's Very Visible, Highly Successful Engineering Data Transformation | 2007-11-01 | siemens |
| Pratt & Whitney (P&W) has built more than half of the 34,000 commercial aircraft engines in service today and more than 40,000 military engines. To meet ambitious cost and cycle time reductions targeted by top management, Pratt & Whitney's engineering organization needed to revitalize its handling of product data. Rather than develop the new CM system in house, P&W decided to evaluate commercial product lifecycle management (PLM) software. By that time, the company had standardized on Unigraphics (now called NX) as its product development system and replaced multiple proprietary Configuration Management (CM) methods with single system built on Teamcenter software; establish NX software models as sole product description.

FileVision Makes Document Management Elementary for Cholmondeley Children's Home in New Zealand | 2007-10-24 | FileVision |
| Cholmondeley Children's Home is a registered Child and Family Support Service located in Christchurch, New Zealand, which provides a safe, short-term haven for children between the ages of 3 and 12 whose parents are unable to care for them. It became clear that the home needed a better way to handle its paper-intensive processes and to find and extract information. Verifying applications for funding, particularly to Government agencies, requires much higher levels of flexibility and accountability than Cholmondeley could provide from the existing paper-based system. Cholmondeley consulted with systems integrator Fraame Solutions, Ltd. who recommended the FileVision document management, imaging and workflow solution.

Lowering New Product Development Risk | 2007-10-15 | PSC Group |
| For the manufacturer of consumer health products, too much information and too many decision points was resulting in the inevitable slippage in new product development. They were not sure which work was in what stage. Deadlines were not being met, processes were being skipped, unauthorized projects were being worked on, and poorly conceived projects were being canceled late in the game. Having identified the real problem, PSC proposed simplifying the current product development process and integrating an electronic document management system with process-based workflow.
