Transferring Mainframe Printing From Proprietary DJDE to an Open Architecture Printer | 2005-02-09 03:00:01 | Solimar Systems |
| Founded in 1935 as the Coal Operators Casualty Company, Old Republic Insurance Company (ORIC) is a major player in the American workers' compensation industry. The primary objective in seeking a new print server solution was to transfer ORIC's mainframe printing from proprietary DJDE to a new 'open architecture' printer. The solution was Solimar Print /Director (SP/D). ORIC reaped the ongoing benefits of a more efficient production workflow as a result of SP/D's job management features. ORIC's operators especially liked the ability to quickly reprint output by dragging and dropping from the print queue. | |||

White Paper on Dot Matrix Printers | 2005-02-07 08:30:42 | Beximco Group & Dohatec |
| Ever since the Digital era started, the Dot Matrix printing method is in vogue. Like atom being the smallest indivisible entity in an element, a dot in the dot matrix printing is the smallest entity. In the digital era, the printing method evolved around 2 types-Impact and Non-Impact Printing. In an Impact printing a mechanical force is exerted on the printing media to form a character whereas in the Non-impact printing the character formation on the media is achieved through non-mechanical means like light (Laser), heat (Thermal), liquid (Inkjet) etc. | |||
