Centre Hospitalier du Kirchberg: Patient-Oriented Medical Care Using Thin Clients | 2005-01-25 03:13:34 | Citrix Systems |
| In 1992, the Sacre-Coeur Hospital and the Saint Elisabeth Hospital decided to merge into a new, patient-oriented hospital. This decision led to the Centre Hospitalier Kirchberg, a modern building complex in the city of Luxembourg, which opened its doors on July 4, 2003. The hospital was a 24 x 7 institution and needed an infrastructure to support this. The hospital approached Telindus, a Gold Citrix Solution Advisor, to design and implement an access infrastructure. Together with Telindus, the hospital IT team built a Citrix MetaFrame Presentation Server farm physically divided between in two separate data centers, thus creating a redundant environment for 300 concurrent users. | |||

How Motorola Deployed an RDP-Only Thin Client Solution | 2005-01-25 02:44:16 | Thin Client Computing |
| SPS is Motorola's semiconductor design and manufacturing division; according to Motorola, the 15,000 SPS employees represent about one-tenth of the company's employees worldwide. The division's Bipolar Manufacturing Complex (BMC) is a set of factories on three sites in and around Mesa, Arizona. PC's aren't the best clients for the SPS factory floors. So when implementing a thin-client solution for its manufacturing plants, Motorola's Semiconductor Products Sector (SPS) broke with convention and chose a less expensive and more modular option: Network Computing Devices' (NCD's) ThinPATH suite of WTS helper software. | |||
