Century Consultants, Ltd. Reduces Costs by Seamlessly Migrating to New Technologies

Overview

In 1989, Century Consultants, Ltd. introduced its first Oracle-based release of Star_Base - a student administration system for K-12 - using character mode terminals. Over the years, technology changed significantly, first with client/server configurations and later with the internet. Century Consultants needed a tool that would help the company keep pace with technological advances and enable fast and simple development and deployment on a range of hardware and software combinations to meet diverse customer needs. In addition, they needed a scalable and highly reliable architecture that could support thousands of clients. Century looked to Oracle Forms and Oracle Reports to help it seamlessly migrate to the latest technologies without having to rewrite applications, thus preserving the company's existing IT investments.
