whitepaper SAP Upgrades: Mitigating Risk to Maximize Value2006-05-12 01:00:28 OnDemand Software
Companies upgrading to SAP ECC 5.0 have made a good decision. The new version of software promises a wealth of business benefits. Now comes the difficult part. ERP upgrades remain a risky business, and migrating to ECC 5.0 is no exception. Change management is a crucial issue; many risks must be mitigated if a project team is to effectively manage change. Failing to mitigate upgrade risks leads to budget overruns, missed deadlines, unprepared end users and other setbacks. This white paper examines the risks associated with SAP upgrades, walks through SAP's ASAP upgrade methodology and identifies specific risk-mitigation approaches. Project teams that know how to mitigate these risks will help ensure that their company's good decision becomes a sound investment.
whitepaper Chicago Luxury Apartments Reach New Heights; Cisco Partner RMS Implements Cost-Effective High Speed Internet Access for All Units2006-05-10 01:00:28 Cisco Systems
Grand Plaza is a new 764-unit luxury high-rise apartment building occupying a very desirable square city block bounded by Ohio, State, Grand and Dearborn in downtown Chicago. The architect and co-developer of the building wanted to offer something other upscale buildings in the area were not: high-speed Internet access from every apartment unit, for free. Cisco Premier partner RMS presented a cost-effective, flexible solution that appealed to the building owner. In order to assure the best success for Grand Plaza, RMS implemented PROCESS10, a standard methodology developed by RMS that employs high-level requirement definition and which the firm always uses to plan out new installations.

whitepaper Identity Control: Realizing the Benefits of Roles Standardization & Cleanup2006-05-26 01:00:26 Watson SCS
In a world of big solutions for big compliance and efficiency headaches, Identity Control is a welcome relief. It is the authors' assertion that "cleaning up" existing identity related processes & role related information will greatly help with productivity, compliance, and normal reconciliation procedures of every organization. Many organizations have tried to tackle role projects, only leading to failed attempts, costing time and money. The authors have followed a proven methodology for success. The methodology is hybrid, leveraging both a top down and bottom up approach. This is a means to gain real, tangible benefit without adding to existing technical complexity.

whitepaper FR-V Single-Chip Multicore Processor: FR10002006-06-02 01:00:29 Fujitsu
To realize the low power consumption and low-cost equipment needed to decode high definition broadcasts, Fujitsu has developed a single-chip multicore processor FR1000 that integrates four 8-way, Very Long Instruction Word (VLIW) FR-V processor cores. This new multicore processor is fabricated using a 90 nm, nine-metal-layer CMOS process and a 900-pin flip-chip package. The processor cores operate at 500 MHz, the memory interfaces at 250 MHz, and system bus at 166 MHz. This paper introduces the hardware and software development environment of this new processor, describes the processor's software operation environment, and cites some examples of its application.
whitepaper Identity-Enabled Information Lifecycle Management (ILM)2006-06-07 01:00:26 Sun Microsystems
Information Lifecycle Management (ILM) has long focused on the one-way migration of data from high-cost media to less-expensive storage options. whitepaper Measuring Application Performance in SOAs2006-09-11 12:44:13 Compuware
This white paper from Compuware discusses the need for comprehensive testing of .NET applications within service-oriented architectures (SOAs). It explains why performance bottlenecks that aren't apparent when components are developed and tested separately often come to light only after an application starts interacting with other Web services. Download the paper to learn why, when profiling .NET applications, you need to analyze both the execution times associated with each line of code, as well as the number of times each line executes.
