whitepaper Telstra Improves Efficiency With Simplified Development Environment2006-12-06 01:00:24 Oracle

The current databases lacked scalability and reliability, while deployment and maintenance of 'Fat client' desktop software was proving burdensome. Telstra was eager to consolidate its distributed desktop database setup into a centralized environment. This was achieved by combining applications from the seven data centers into a single Oracle 10g Database running on Red Hat Linux and low-cost Intel hardware.
