| The objective was to progress a current generation ATM, by adding a new generation banknote recycling unit. The customer was particularly excited by the release of a new technology of this banknote recycling unit, but didn't want to install the new product, as his operating network would not support it. As the module was a large high tech unit and there were serious concerns that the module could not be fitted into the unit. The exploratory investigation required substantial design to prove the feasibility of the project. The project developed with a completion of the design, which included a new safe and a significant amount of module mountings racking, harnessing, etc. DDM Services staff organised and supervised transaction testing and racking tests. | |||

| The objective was to develop a solution to reduce the height of an ATM by 85.0 mm (3¼ inches minimum). A new product release was considered to be too tall to replace older ATMs in current sites. The project developed with a review of the current design to determine where and how the reduced height could be achieved. This review concluded in that with minimising any more than nominal clearances would only provide a minimal amount; a new safe design restricting the use of high level security (thick walled safes) could also provide a further reduction. The design was completed and 2 prototypes manufactured and assembled to verify the design and produce the assembly aids if and when it was released for general production. | |||
