Overview
A Geomobile system is a geo-stationary satellite-based communication system offering point-to-point voice and data communication services. It provides mobile communication services in various parts of the world using a regenerative satellite among the Mobile Stations and other network nodes, such as Gateways. It is typically based on the modified GSM (2G/2.5G) architecture and inherits a wide variety of its characteristics, such as multiple access, channel structure, frame structure, broadcast, and access control. It uses proprietary L2/L1 protocols, an efficient RR management, and modified GSM CC/MM protocols.
