Improved Digital Television Technology Is Another Step Designed to Improve Patient Care and Comfort at HUMC

Overview

As an already functioning unit at HUMC since 2006, the NITConnect team at the hospital facilitated the implementation of 212 12 - 20" LG LCD televisions, provided by TVR Communications, one of the largest providers of interactive patient education and entertainment products and services. The NITConnect project management team coordinated and facilitated the master antenna and distribution system upgrade to a bi-directional cable system. This system enables the hospital to receive clear television reception on each television located at patient locations, physician "On call" rooms and other common areas. Implementation of TVRC's comprehensive hardware, software and network platform (healthcare grade flat panel televisions, cable high definition television solutions) supports the interactive patient education, entertainment and communication services.
