Technical Considerations for Creating a Serviceguard Cluster That Spans Multiple IP Subnets

Overview

Serviceguard has required that nodes in the cluster be on the same IP subnet and that all the interfaces on the same subnet must be connected at the link level. This requirement has become too restrictive, especially for clusters that extend across sites over a long distance, or even for clusters on a single site that have to follow strict security policies.
