However, the organization's traditional classroom methods left much to be desired. Test results and knowledge retention were not being tracked. Trainers were scoring written tests by hand, with no tools to analyze the results. The organization had content owners without e-learning design skills and designers who were unable to quickly produce good online courses. Previous attempts at on-demand training failed because they were too complicated and cumbersome. So-net had all but given up on e-learning - until they discovered Macromedia Breeze. As a large community college, Mesa Community College (MCC) needed a way to increase the quality and quantity of its distributed-learning offerings and deploy new interactive technology campus-wide. MCC's goal is eventually to offer full degree programs online. The college's Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) team went shopping for a way to distribute training and technical resources more effectively and purchased Macromedia Breeze Presentation and Breeze Live.

The NSW Department of Education and Training delivers high-quality education and training services from early childhood education through to post-compulsory education and training. Since 1984 the annual Schools Spectacular has showcased the singing and dancing talents of approximately 3,000 students from across the New South Wales public school system. In a first for the New South Wales Department of Education, a live interactive video link-up over the Cisco network was established at 2005's rehearsal between dance choreographer Peter Cook, who was on location at the Sydney Entertainment Centre with hundreds of student dancers, and two groups of students in regional Australia. Cisco Systems has provided an Internet Protocol (IP) videoconferencing solution to help remote schools participate in the dance rehearsal.

The company wanted to unify geographically dispersed plants and offices, and reduce phone and videoconferencing costs. Based on the enormous success of that deployment, Quadion Corporation, the holding company of Minnesota Rubber, decided to adopt Cisco IP Communications for a new building that the company recently purchased to consolidate operations.

School District Offers Distance Learning and Improves Efficiency 2006-05-01 Cisco Systems

The sixth largest school district in the United States, the Broward County School District's primary goal was to enhance educational learning opportunities by supplementing voice conferencing with Web collaboration. Another goal was to extend the use of voice conferencing to parent-teacher conferences and staff meetings, including in-service training. The Broward County School District deployed Cisco Unified MeetingPlace system for voice conferencing with Web collaboration and built Cisco foundation infrastructure for wired and wireless networks.
