whitepaper Financial Application Service Provider Improves Security and Network Performance With a Single, Integrated Solution From F52008-05-19 F5 Networks
FMR specializes in providing software and services for the financial services market in Israel. The company wanted to maintain tight security for sensitive financial data and improve network management to deliver improved service for clients. The challenge was to increase system usage and provide remote network access to hosted applications. FMR implemented F5 FirePass SSL VPN. FMR chose FirePass because of its ability to provide extremely secure, remote access to applications using a standard web browser as well as its ease of use and superior scalability.

whitepaper Improving Load Balancing With Multipath Routing2008-05-18 University Louis Pasteur
Internet service providers have to provision network resources to optimize bandwidth utilization. Dynamic routing protocols take traffic variations into account to control the load distribution. Multipath routing protocols attempt to take advantage of the path diversity to bring network robustness and reliability. Indeed, with a specific traffic engineering policy, they enable load balancing across several paths. The aim is to compute a set of loopfree paths in order to allow routers to share the load on several next hops depending on current load measurement. This paper describe the original Incoming Interface Multipath Routing technique, DT(p), then it present a scheme for load balancing, DT(p)-TE, based on link monitoring.

whitepaper TechNet Webcast: 24 Hours of Windows Server 2008 (Part 23 of 24): Failover Clustering and Network Load Balancing (Level 200)2008-05-16 Microsoft Tips
The presenter of this webcast takes a look at the new features and enhancements in high availability options for the Windows Server 2008 operating system. The presenter reviews the simplified cluster setup that can make deploying and configuration failover clusters easier while reducing configuration errors. The presenter then discusses changes and improvements to Network Load Balancing (NLB) in Windows Server 2008.

whitepaper High Technology for Virtual Private Network Solutions2008-05-15 msm net ingenieurburo meissner
Using the VPN solutions of "msm net ingenieurburo meissner" means that any VPN-network structures can be realized. With the use of the internet classic star-type and meshed networks as well as combinations can be realized. The realization can be carried out either with static and/or dynamic IP-addresses. This paper presents a short and clear way the important technical characteristics. On the basis of these tables a fast evaluation of possible advanced variants and system integrations can take place.

whitepaper Load Balancing for Multimedia Streaming in Heterogeneous Peer-to-Peer Systems2008-05-14 Association for Computing Machinery
Multimedia streaming of mostly user generated content is an ongoing trend, not only since the upcoming of Last.fm and YouTube. A distributed decentralized multimedia streaming architecture can spread the (traffic) costs to the user nodes, but requires providing for load balancing and consider the heterogeneity of the participating nodes. This paper propose a DHT-based information gathering and analyzing architecture which controls the streaming request assignment in the system and thoroughly evaluate it in comparison to a distributed stateless strategy. The impact of the key parameters is evaluated in the allocation function which considers the capabilities of the nodes and their contribution to the system.

whitepaper PharmaPartners Secures 7 Million Patient Records Using Check Point Technology2008-05-13 Check Point Software Technologies
PharmaPartners is an independent IT specialist in the Netherlands and is a key IT-infrastructure provider within the region's healthcare industry. To improve cooperation among medical professionals, PharmaPartners developed the eHealth Information Concept, a system that links eHealthcare Groups with one another via a rich GUI and a centralized electronic patient record system. To ensure the best performance, PharmaPartners had to clearly divide the shared network of the user groups from the open network, which meant that the security infrastructure had to be better than ever. PharmaPartners deployed Check Point for its solution and selected VPN-1 Power, a tightly integrated product that provides firewall security and VPN connectivity.

whitepaper New Technique for Fixing an Ethernet IPv6 Address Using the Fedoracore Operating System2008-05-12 Association for Computing Machinery
During the course to deploy Ipv6, it was found that several critical implementation and operational issues which distract user and possibly prevent wide deployment of Ipv6. Among the problems it is noticed stateless IP autoconfiguration, which provides for each nodes connected to the network an IP address. However, two nodes may have the same address, and a network conflict appears. In this case a manual IP address, which depends on restarting Network Interface Card, is required. This paper presents a technique that, independently of rebooting NIC, maintain the IP address fix. Validation is done by using Fedoracore Operating System.

whitepaper Fast Channel Switching2008-05-12 RealNetworks
Fast Channel Switching is a method of rapid channel switching that is accomplished without having to make client-side changes, including starting new client connection to the server. This is achieved by having the server maintain a connection to the client while switching the channel or input stream on the back end. Channel switch requests are made by the client via an out-of-band HTTP request. After server validates the request and confirms compatibility of requested content, it will perform a switch of content on the same client connection.

whitepaper Dynamic Aspect-Oriented Load Balancing in Java RMI2008-05-08 University of Waterloo
Load balancing is the process of distributing client requests over a set of servers, and is a key element of obtaining good performance in a distributed application. Java RMI extends Java with distributed objects whose methods can be called from remote clients. In some Java RMI programs, there may be multiple replicas of a given object that can be the receiver of a remote method invocation. Effectively distributing these requests across these replicas requires either an extra balancer process or additional code on the client for this distribution. This paper demonstrates the use of dynamic aspects in JAC to solve this problem.
whitepaper Global Biopharmaceutical Company Stays Secure With Security Information and Event Management System2008-05-07 Check Point Software Technologies
Global biopharmaceutical is a leading pharmaceutical company, with headquartered in the United States. The organization is challenged with continuing security audits of its network and data security systems by its partner companies and the Federal Drug Administration (FDA). The company needed a Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) system that takes massive volumes of data logs from all of the company's security devices and gathers them into a central repository. As a long-time Check Point customer, the pharmaceutical company has a substantial standing investment in VPN-1 technology. With Eventia Analyzer, the company is able to correlate log data from Check Point security devices-as well as third-party security devices-automatically prioritizing security events for decisive, intelligent action.
