TechNet Webcast: Troubleshooting Exchange Server Mail Flow Issues Using the Exchange Troubleshooting Assistant 1.1 (Level 300) | 2007-05-28 | Microsoft Tips |
| This webcast explores the Microsoft Exchange Server Mail Flow Analyzer, which is part of Microsoft Exchange Troubleshooting Assistant. The presenter describes how the Microsoft Exchange Server Mail Flow Analyzer is a diagnostic tool that walks through the correct path for troubleshooting problems with e-mail flow, from analyzing symptoms to implementing solutions. Providing easy access to key data sources, this tool automatically diagnoses retrieved data, presents an analysis of the possible root causes, and suggests corrective actions. The Exchange Server Mail Flow Analyzer also helps to manually diagnose data when automation is not possible.

Diagnostic Network Patch System for SHM and Intelligent Infrastructure | 2007-04-01 | ASMOTE.COM |
| As a diagnostic system for Continuous Structural Health Monitoring and Intelligent Infrastructure (CSHM&II), the Diagnostic Network Patch (DNP) system has been developed to detect and monitor the flaws and faults of the structure of composites and metallic materials. As a device of interrogating guided acoustic waves in a structure, each of patches includes a sensor embodiment of flat optical cable loops and multilayered piezo ceramic disk as sensor/actuator. In the algorithms of DNP system, an interrogation module controls the network configuration of actuators and sensors and commits retrieving a data set of sensor signals. This module continues to compute a Structural Condition Index (SCI) to afford tomography images. Other expert classification and prognosis modules use the image set to classify structural condition, and forecast the current damage.

Neural Network Based Fault Diagnostics of Industrial Robots Using Wavelt Multi-Resolution Analysis | 2007-03-28 | Northeastern University |
| A multi-resolution wavelet analysis coupled with a neural network based approach is applied in the problem of fault diagnostics of industrial robots. The multi-resolution analysis implements discrete wavelet transforms with filters and decomposes the signal in various levels. The approximate and detailed coefficients of the decomposed signals are then used for training a feedforward neural network whose output determines the state (faulty or normal) of the robot. The neural network classifier was then implemented and monitored in a Matlab-Simulink environment using a state-flow model. Validation of the method was performed offline using experimental data obtained from an industrial robot manipulator used in the semi-conductor industry. | |||

Open Architecture Physical Layer Diagnostics Speed Installation and Reduce Downtime | 2007-03-15 | FF-EUC Aus |
| Hand-held test tools have been used routinely on the world's major fieldbus installations to speed the installation process by diagnosing wiring errors prior to start-up. In response to end-user feedback, recent enhancements have delivered better features such as noise measurement in multiple frequency bands and the ability to store field measurements before downloading them in the maintenance shop. Now, with the advent of continuous, on-line monitoring of the fieldbus physical layer, diagnostic information can be integrated into the asset and alarm management environments of today's fieldbus control systems. The paper will describe how the use of Foundation fieldbus as the protocol for communicating diagnostic information delivers an open architecture that is independent of control system choice.

On Scalability of Proximity-Aware Peer-to-Peer Streaming | 2007-01-27 | Vanderbilt University |
| P2P (Peer-to-Peer) technology has proved itself an efficient and cost-effective solution to support large-scale multimedia streaming. Different from traditional P2P applications, the quality of P2P streaming is strictly determined by performance metrics such as streaming delay. To meet these requirements, previous studies resorted to intuitions and heuristics to construct peer selection solutions incorporating topology and proximity concerns. However, the impact of proximity-aware methodology and delay tolerance of peers on the scalability of P2P system remains an unanswered question. This paper studies this problem via an analytical approach.

Aircraft Engine On-Board Diagnostics Based on Neural Network | 2007-01-25 | Transport and Telecommunication Institute |
| It is offered to employ the Neural Network (NN) technology in the software of on-board aircraft engines automatic diagnostic system. But first it was necessary to solve the problem related to teaching NN the ability to adequately and certainly evaluate critical shift of an aeroengine technical condition in flight, including engine monitoring system, e.g. in case of one of data channel fault. Current research recommends to move from trend analysis of gasdynamics parameters measured on the engine during flight to numerical analysis of engines air-gas path defects criteria using neural networks trained by using Diagnostic Matrix (DM) specifically worked out for this particular engine model with the purpose of deeper diagnostics of fitted on Fokker-50 PW-125B turboprop engine two-shaft gasgenerator. | |||
