Bonnaroo Music Festival Launches "Instant Network" and Meets iPod Wi-Fi User Demands With Rugged, Energy-Saving D-Link Networking Gear | 2008-07-02 | D-Link |
| When one puts on the biggest, most popular festival in United States, there are some challenges. The Bonnaroo Festival is essentially an instant population of 80,000 that materializes over night. The site becomes the 6th largest city in Tennessee during the show. The instant population needs sewage, water, electricity, phones and Internet connectivity. The first workers arrive on-site in mid-May, and 10 days after that, there's running water, office trailers, showers and, of course, Internet. Bonnaroo installed a mix of indoor and outdoor D-Link networking equipment to meet the demands of their trailer and farmland environment. They deployed ruggedized DWL-7700AP Wireless AG Outdoor AP/Bridges outside.

Online Testing Service Adds Biometric Identification | 2008-04-24 | JNBridge |
| KRYTERION's core testing technology, Webassessor, delivers tests to candidates in the field for certification, accreditation, or licensing. Webassessor is back-ended with the open-sourced Tomcat J2EE application server and MySQL. For the next-generation release of Webassessor, KRYTERION looked for the best-of-breed biometric authentication system in order to help validate the identification of the person taking the test. After looking around for other ways to communicate between Java and .NET, KRYTERION found JNBridge. JNBridge connects Java- and .NET-based components and applications together with simple-to-use bridging tools and adapters that remove the complexities of cross-platform interoperability.

Native American Tribes Manage Wind Power Generation Turbines in Brutal Sub-Zero Conditions With D-Link Wireless Solution | 2008-03-31 | D-Link |
| The northeast section of Montana, which borders North Dakota and Canada, features one of the coldest wind corridors in the country. The turbines are located at the headquarter of the Fort Peck Tribes, about a mile away from town, but near the high winds. While the power lines from turbines carry power to the reservation, there was no way to efficiently monitor turbine operations on an intelligent network. They needed a way to control the wind generation towers. Gaffaney's of Williston, Plentywood, and Glasgow, a D-Link Value Added Reseller (VAR) offered the tribes a wireless solution. Gaffaney's helped the reservation install three DWL-7700AP Wireless AG Outdoor AP/BridgeAPs.

Energy Provider Improving Total Cost of Ownership With Unified Communications | 2007-12-01 | Microsoft |
| Enbridge is a leader in energy delivery in North America, and through its Liquids Pipelines segment, it operates the largest crude oil and liquids pipeline system in the world. Traditionally, employees in the Liquids Pipelines division have used applications from multiple vendors. However, the disparate architecture became more difficult to manage and employees encountered communication challenges. In 2007, the company's Liquids Pipelines division implemented a pilot unified communications solution built on Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007 and Microsoft Exchange Server 2007. The new solution provides features such as Voice over IP (VoIP) telephony, on-premise Web conferencing, and instant messaging. As a result, Enbridge expects to increase productivity, partner communication, employee mobility, and operational control - and reduce the total cost of ownership.

Microsoft Online Services Customer Story: i'm Campaign | 2007-11-13 | Microsoft Tips |
| Founded in 1975, Microsoft (Nasdaq "MSFT") is the worldwide leader in software, services and solutions that help people and businesses realize their full potential. What often gets lost in the shuffle are the social issues that are most important to many people. These issues - and many more - transcend demographics and focus groups. These issues don't care about salary ranges, job titles, stock portfolios, or rush hour traffic. Sooner or later, they affect all. To help bridge that gap, Microsoft introduced the i'm Initiative, a program from Windows Live Messenger. Every time a user registered with the i'm campaign has conversations using Windows Live Messenger, Microsoft shares a portion of the program's advertising revenue with some of the world's most effective organizations dedicated to social causes.

Enterprise Solutions Using Java-PHP | 2007-06-07 | Caucho Technology |
| LiveProcess is the leader in emergency preparedness' planning for the healthcare industry. As the project moved forward, several of the existing functions and new feature requirements could be implemented better as background tasks. However, PHP on Apache is a user-initiated programming environment and requires user input to run PHP. As an experienced Java developer knew that Java could handle the background tasks through multithreading and wanted the added Java benefits of integrated security and connection pooling. LiveProcess deployed Combined Java-PHP architecture for their solution. The Java-PHP bridge consists of Java calling a running instance of Apache/PHP via RMI, but this would be cumbersome to deploy in a production environment.
