Technical Considerations for Creating a Serviceguard Cluster That Spans Multiple IP Subnets | 2008-04-01 | Hewlett-Packard (HP) |
| Serviceguard has required that nodes in the cluster be on the same IP subnet and that all the interfaces on the same subnet must be connected at the link level. AutoNation Achieves Backups 12 Times Faster, Cuts Costs With New Backup Software | 2008-03-27 | Microsoft Tips |
| Leading automotive retailer AutoNation watched its data expand as rapidly as its car sales. When its data stores hit 15 terabytes, the company could no longer back up all of its data in a 24-hour period. Also, the tape-based backup scheme required hours of management each week and was often unreliable. AutoNation decided to deploy Microsoft System Center Data Protection Manager 2007, a disk-and-tape backup system, to back up its Microsoft-based file, database, and messaging workloads. Since moving to the new software, AutoNation has seen a 12-times reduction in backup times and a six-hour timesaving each week for IT staff. Users are more productive because of the ready availability of disk-based backups, and backup maintenance costs have dropped by 30 percent.

Technology Brief: CA Recovery Management and VMware Infrastructure | 2008-03-24 | CA XOsoft |
| The expansion of IT systems to support the growth of mission-critical business processes and services is fueling two parallel trends. One is the increase in the deployment of new applications and the provision of access to them and their information in ways that are economical, flexible, fast and well managed. The other is an increase in the implementation of business continuity (BC), disaster recovery (DR) and high availability (HA) initiatives aimed at safeguarding these applications. As such, many organizations are particularly challenged with simultaneously supporting and protecting their growing farms of mission-critical business applications with cost-effective BC and DR programs.

The Verdict Is in - UltraBac Software Is a Great Choice for Law Firms | 2007-10-29 | UltraBac Software |
| The data stored on the server is a vital part of Turner Padget's business. Critical summary judgments, motions, declarations, and other items filed within the courts need to be readily accessible. Losing any or all data would have a devastating impact on the firm's business. Therefore, a complete and dependable backup and recovery plan, as well as support for a wide array of servers and devices, is a necessity for Turner Padget's operations. Since UltraBac had provided Turner Padget with dependable file-by-file backup protection for the past six years, the company naturally looked to UltraBac Software again when they decided to add image-based disaster recovery.
