Orange Business Services Brings 'Business Together' With Industry-Leading Multimedia Communication Solutions | 2007-02-07 | Nortel Networks |
| Enterprises are clamoring for communications solutions that converge their fixed and mobile devices and provide a full suite of multimedia features. Fixed-line service still has its place, as devices that are associated with a group of people - a company, for example - or a location, as opposed to an individual, provide a variety of multimedia utilities and/or conveniences. Orange Business Services leveraged France Telecom's strategic partnership with Nortel to introduce "Business Together," a new suite of Session Initiation Protocol (SIP)-based advanced collaborative multimedia communications services being initially delivered to corporate customers in France.

European Railway Traffic Management System | 2005-09-01 | Nortel Networks |
| To bear with the high cost of the different signaling and communication systems, the European Commission started a project back in the early 1990s to analyze the problems provoked by the operation of the different train control-command systems. Two different groups of experts worked out basic strategies on how these problems could be solved. One working group looked at the definition of a new communication system and the other one analyzed the definition of a new signaling standard. The result of their work was the definition of GSM for Railways (GSM-R) as the new digital radio system for railway internal voice and data communication, and the European Train Control System (ETCS) as the new control-command system.
