Lake Washington School District Leverages HP's Education Enterprise Solution to Aid Students in Achieving Their Maximum Potential | 2005-04-08 08:25:13 | Hewlett-Packard |
| The Lake Washington School District is located in the state of Washington and serves 24,000 students, many who have parents working for 'high tech' companies like Boeing, Microsoft, AT&T Wireless and Nintendo. Although Lake Washington's solid HP infrastructure was in place - operated by well-trained administrative staff, and accessed by faculty with good technology skills - Lake Washington realized something was missing. What began to emerge was an ongoing difficulty with applications that were unable to interface with one another. To address this problem specifically for educational institutions, HP developed the HP Education Enterprise solution, which ties disparate applications together in a cost-effective technology infrastructure with long-term sustainability. | |||

i5/OS LPAR Performance on POWER4 and POWER5 Systems | 2005-02-23 04:42:35 | IBM |
| The goals of this white paper are to: examine processor partitioning (LPAR) performance from two perspectives, whole processor partitioning and partial processor partitioning, provide guidelines and tips to help optimize LPAR performance where appropriate and provide some rules of thumb for sizing LPAR Capacity. This white paper is not a tutorial on Logical Partitioning and assumes that the reader has a basic understanding of partitioning concepts and configuration. | |||

The Value of Solutions Powered by SAP NetWeaver | 20050107040521 | SAP |
| This presentation highlights how powerful SAP solutions leverage SAP NetWeaver - the dynamic open technology platform - and reveals how this combination drives additional business benefits for your enterprise. Various examples show how integration technology is elevated from a project-based 'afterthought' to a critical element in building applications that add unparalleled flexibility to solutions. This presentation further demonstrates how this enhances ones investment by allowing reuse of the same technology for further integration - beyond the scope of the original solution and at the lowest TCO. | |||

InfiniBand Fabric Topologies | 2004-08-17 | Hewlett-Packard |
| InfiniBand (IB) is a switched I/O fabric designed for low latency, high bandwidth, and with capabilities that enable very low CPU consumption. HP supports InfiniBand on HP-UX as a High Performance Computing clustering fabric specifically for MPI applications and, in the future, will also support InfiniBand as the clustering interconnect for Oracle RAC. This paper describes the results of testing various InfiniBand system and switch configurations with the intent to provide customers with the information needed to determine which switch topology meets their budget and performance goals. | |||

Intel Integrated Performance Primitives (Intel IPP) for Windows: Building an Application Using Intel IPP | 20041104063043 | Intel |
| This paper talks about building IPP-based applications for Intel Pentium and Intel Itanium processor systems. Intel IPP comes with "merged" static library files that contain every processor version of each function. Some applications use only a few Intel IPP functions and require a small memory footprint. Using the e-merged libraries offers both the benefits of small footprint and optimization on multiple processors. This paper describes the procedure to be used while building the application. | |||

Getting Started With WDM Audio Drivers | 20040716030001 | Microsoft |
| This paper provides information about Windows Driver Model (WDM) audio device drivers for the Microsoft Windows family of operating systems. It provides guidelines to hardware vendors for choosing how to supply driver support for their audio devices. The paper primarily focuses on drivers that support PCI audio adapters by communicating with the system-supplied PortCls system driver through well-defined device driver interfaces. In addition, it briefly discusses driver issues for audio devices on external buses, such as the Universal Serial Bus (USB) and IEEE 1394. | |||

Implementing Rapid Deployment Pack and PXE in an Enterprise Network Environment | 20040515010352 | Hewlett Packard |
| The HP ProLiant Essentials Rapid Deployment Pack was developed to automate repetitive tasks such as configuring and deploying servers. The Rapid Deployment Pack combines two powerful products: the Altiris eXpress Deployment Solution and the ProLiant Integration Module. The Altiris eXpress Deployment Solution utilizes PXE (pronounced "pixie") technology to provide complete hands off deployment of servers using a network boot process. This paper provides an overview of PXE technology, describes the components in the Altiris eXpress Deployment Solution, and describes scenarios for implementing PXE. |
