HP took a traditional rapid deployment process and applied it to an e-learning implementation. It incorporated the use of remote training delivery tools with virtual classrooms and virtual laboratories to create an environment where people could learn, while leveraging its expertise in e-learning and avoiding the need to "Reinvent the wheel".

In an environment where computer access was limited in the past, iBook Wireless Mobile Labs are now giving South Gate's students daily exposure to technology, and engaging them with computer-based learning. Before South Gate's teachers can use the iBook Wireless Mobile Labs in the classrooms, they go through intensive training. Apple Professional Development (APD) has been a significant part of that process, providing instruction on laptop usage and care, and working with teachers to develop lessons that incorporate digital content into the curriculum.
