Midway Independent School District Relies on Websense Software to Block Spyware

Overview

Midway Independent School District (Midway ISD), located in Waco, Texas, consists of eight schools serving McLennan County, Texas. In 2004, Midway ISD recognized 20 merit scholar finalists and is well-known statewide for its bright students and high scores across standardized tests. Midway ISD's more than 6,000 students and 800 staff members needed a solution help reduce inappropriate web surfing, reduce exposure to legal liability due to inappropriate web content and to help minimize security risks associated with spyware, malicious mobile code, phishing and other frauds. Midway ISD installed all three Websense Premium Groups: Productivity PG, Bandwidth PG and Security PG. The Premium Groups allow them to mitigate security, productivity, and bandwidth issues.
