Defining Spyware and Its Uses

Overview

There is a lot of debate among security experts over the exact definition of it. Most spyware has the same type of characteristics. This is an information gathering software that invades the computer sometimes even with out one knowing it. It runs in the background of the other programs and gathers information and monitors the activity. It transfers that information to another cyber destination that uses it to annoy you. Adware is different than spyware in one major area. It still runs undetected and in the background. But it focuses on papering one with advertisements. This paper will define the spyware and adware and will explain its uses.
