Almost all Internet users have been bombarded with spyware at one time or another. A good indication that one has spyware somewhere in the machine is when it starts to behave strangely. One will see pop-up advertisements all the time, regardless if he or she is connected to the Internet or not. Most of these ads will have nothing to do with the web sites one is visiting and some will even show up when one starts up the computer. Many of these ads can be for adult entertainment or other types of offensive material. Spyware can be the culprit when settings have changed and one can't get them to go back.
