Vodafone Telecel Chooses Trend Micro

Overview

Vodafone Telecel is one of the largest operators in the Portuguese Telecommunications market. It operates a nation-wide GSM cellular network and was granted a UMTS license. In the past when Vodafone Telecel was building its ISP infrastructure, it was looking for a scalable antivirus solution to potentially support up to a one million mail boxes on a 24x7x365 basis. From an administrative perspective it was also looking for a solution that provided central management and deployment of antivirus pattern files and scan engine updates. Vodafone decided to build its mail hosting infrastructure on the Windows 2000 platform and use Trend Micro's InterScan Messaging Security Suite for gateway and content filtering of spam (unsolicited mail) for inbound SMTP traffic.
