Total Network Security for Telecom Plus - The Utility Warehouse | 2008-10-02 | Check Point Software Technologies |
| The Utility Warehouse Discount Club operated by Telecom Plus plc needed a network that is completely safe from the threat posed by removable media devices. Codina decided to test out some other removable media security options from other vendors. Products from Pointsec amongst others were tested by Telecom Plus and Pointsec Device Protector was chosen due to its flexibility, usability and sophistication. With Pointsec Device Protector the software follows the user around and is not rigidly stuck to one PC. This suits the needs of individual users and the company as one operates a 'Hot-desking' policy that simply did not fit with other software products they tested.

Travelex Secures Remote Endpoints With UTM-1 Edge | 2008-10-02 | Check Point Software Technologies |
| While the IT department, which is based in the company's North American headquarters in Toronto, Canada, was operating over a point-to-point ISDN connection, many branch locations were connecting to the Internet through unsecured dialup. In a nutshell, there were two specific challenges: There was no way to ensure that all the remote locations had the latest antivirus signatures, making certain offices susceptible to aiding virus outbreaks and connection speeds for each branch varied widely, so there was no reliable way to push out patches when security upgrades were necessary. As a solution Travelex embraced an early version of an all-in-one Unified Threat Management (UTM) security appliance from Check Point Software Technologies.
