whitepaper Pairing-Based Identification Schemes2005-12-22 01:01:52
This paper presents four new identification schemes based on pairings, and proves their security given various computational assumptions. Each of the schemes is at least as efficient and/or secure as any scheme currently in the literature. The main contribution is Protocol 6.5, a scheme which is secure if the pairing in question is a one-way function; this assumption is weaker than that made for any other pairing-based scheme currently in the literature.
whitepaper Think Network Security2005-08-30 03:00:02
The advent of the Internet and mobile computing has undoubtedly created a profound shift in government operating practices. Notebooks and handheld computers have unlocked productivity for federal workers - enabling an "always-on" e-government infrastructure. Federal employees around the globe require information at their fingertips. As a result, government network managers need a faster, easier and less costly remote and extranet access alternative that maintains the strictest possible level of security.
whitepaper Webinar - Identity Management: A Cornerstone of Compliance2006-11-30 01:00:16 Oracle
Hear Burton Group Senior VP Daniel Blum discuss how to apply identity management solutions to solve compliance requirements in a timely and cost-efficient manner.
whitepaper Towards Software-Based Signature Detection for Intrusion Prevention on the Network Card2005-08-03 Vrije Universiteit
CardGuard is a signature detection system for intrusion detection and prevention that scans the entire payload of packets for suspicious patterns and is implemented in software on a network card equipped with an Intel IXP1200 network processor. One card can be used to protect either a single host, or a small group of machines connected to a switch. CardGuard is non-intrusive in the sense that no cycles of the host CPUs are used for intrusion detection and the system operates at Fast Ethernet link rate. TCP flows are first reconstructed before they are scanned with the Aho-Corasick algorithm.

whitepaper Centralized Identity and Policy Management for Windows, Linux, Unix, Mac and Java with Active Directory and DirectControl2006-01-26 11:06:54
Centrify enables a secure, connected computing environment by seamlessly integrating your Unix, Linux, Mac, Java and web platforms with Microsoft Active Directory's identity, access, and policy management services. With its patent-pending Zone technology, Centrify delivers the only solution that does not require intrusive reconfiguration of existing systems and provides the granular administrative control needed to securely manage a diverse set of systems and applications. This white paper examines the compelling business and technical case for centralizing administration in Microsoft's Active Directory, describes how DirectControl enables you to integrate Active Directory with your non-Microsoft platforms, and describes DirectControl’s architecture and benefits.
whitepaper Oracle Database 10g Release 2 Defense-in-Depth Security2005-10-04 03:00:05
Historically security has been focused on the perimeter and keeping the bad guys out. However, over the past few years the focus has shifted to the Intranet and internal security. While the vast majority of employees are trustworthy and strive to contribute to the overall success of an organization, one employee can wreak havoc on corporate strategy and image. In addition, there are individuals and companies who seek personal gain by to exploiting the information they gain through seemingly legitimate partnerships or business relationships. Oracle Database 10g Release 2 raises database security technology to a new level.
whitepaper Novell Enables Federal Agencies to Comply2005-08-23 03:00:03 Novell
HSPD-12 requires a standard identification card for federal employees and contractors to access federally controlled information systems. Novell's HSPD-12 solution combines proven, commercial software with consulting services to help federal agencies provide secure and manageable access to network resources. In addition, agencies can leverage their existing Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) to comply with HSPD-12 and reduce costs and administrative burden. Using Novell's HSPD-12 solution, the Washington Headquarter Services (WHS) within the Department of Defense (DOD) significantly enhanced security to network resources while improving the end user experience.
whitepaper Distributing Security-Mediated PKI2005-07-19 Springer Science+Business Media
The security-mediated approach to PKI offers several advantages, such as instant revocation and compatibility with standard RSA tools. This paper presents a design and prototype that addresses its trust and scalability problems. It uses trusted computing platforms linked with peer-to-peer networks to create a network of trustworthy mediators and improve availability. Threshold cryptography is used to build a back-up and migration technique which allows recovery from a mediator crashing while also avoiding having all mediators share all secrets.
