The PKI Authentication System With the Integration of Biometric Identification and Nonsymmetric Key Technology | 2009-05-24 | Academy Publisher |
| To deal with the threats to the PKI authentication system from the internet and the real world, based on the analysis of biometric identification and nonsymmetric key technology, this paper presented a new PKI authentication system through the integration of Biometric identification and non-symmetric key technology, which assembled their advantages and made up their disadvantages to each other and formed a double-insurance for the E-commerce security. The most important of the system were the integration designs and measures for the private key, also principles and the processes needed were introduced.

Analysis - Biometrics: Digital Identity | 2009-02-01
| IBS has covered the progress of biometric technology in the banking sector twice before, and on both occasions the bank installing biometric technology was in the Middle East. Cairo Amman Bank was the first in the world to adopt an iris biometric identification management system from Irisguard (IBS, July/August 2008), and Banque Saudi Fransi's internal biometric security system was explored in November (IBS, November 2008). The similar geography of these two examples is no coincidence. The Middle East as a whole is further down this road than the West.

Stock Yards Bank and Trust Makes Employees Productive and Keeps Data Secure With Imprivata OneSign | 2008-10-01 | Imprivata |
| Stock Yards Bank & Trust has been a trusted part of the Louisville, Kentucky community for more than a century. Chief Information Officer, Jim Condra felt biometrics would be the easiest solution to implement, because Stock Yards computer users could authenticate their identities during logon simply by placing their fingertips on desktop scanners. Imprivata's representatives introduced Condra to Imprivata OneSign. With OneSign, a single action of user authentication permits users to access all computers and applications they are authorized to use, thereby eliminating the need to remember and enter multiple passwords.

Mobile Biometric Identification | 2008-09-12 | Motorola |
| Adding a wireless dimension to Biometric Identification Systems (BIS) provides a more efficient and reliable method of identity management across criminal justice and civil markets. Yet deploying cost-effective portable devices with the ability to capture biometric identifiers - such as fingerprints and facial images - is only part of the solution. Organizations must consider back-end infrastructure, secure methods of wireless connectivity, and the integration of mobile applications with existing business processes. An end-to-end, standards-based approach is required to deliver operational efficiencies, optimize resources and impact the bottom line.

Nerac Helps McCrone Associates Support Gospel of Judas' Authenticity | 2008-08-08
| Senior Research Microscopist and team leader for the ink analysis project at McCrone Associates, had a challenge. The initial analytical results were troubling, as the ink included a number of totally unexpected elemental constituents. Joe Barabe and his team at McCrone Associates turned to Nerac immediately once they realized that the ink did not fit the expected pattern for an ancient ink. Using his extensive knowledge, Nerac's Mike Plante researched various published journals and documents to find a vital piece of information McCrone later used to help further their investigation and analysis of the ink used to write the Gospel of Judas. With Nerac, McCrone has a dedicated team of professional analysts they can turn to for specific, project-related work without the cost of hiring full-time employees.

Airport Insecurity: The Case of Lost Laptops | 2008-06-30 | Dell |
| Do you ever worry about losing your laptop computer while rushing to catch a flight at a busy airport?
Everyday business travelers are putting the sensitive and confidential data of their organizations at risk when they travel through airports. Ponemon Institute conducted a study, sponsored by Dell, to understand the current risks posed to sensitive and confidential data contained in the laptops of business travelers. Companies are dependent upon on a mobile workforce with access to information no matter where they travel. However, this mobility is putting companies at risk of having a data breach if a laptop containing sensitive information is lost or stolen. Read the findings of this study to help understand what you should be doing to protect the information on your employees' laptops and to reduce the likelihood that your employees will lose laptops while traveling. Tokenless Two-Factor Authentication: It Finally Adds Up | 2009-01-28 | PhoneFactor |
| Securing access to sensitive corporate and customer data is critical, especially in industries that require a regulatory-compliant environment. While two-factor authentication is an effective security solution, traditional two-factor systems have been difficult to implement and administer, leading to limited adoption. PhoneFactor uses any mobile phone (or landline) as the second authentication factor.
In this paper PhoneFactor CTO Steve Dispensa explains PhoneFactor's proven approach to two-factor authentication using out-of-band authentication with real-time fraud alerts to dramatically increase security. Learn how this technology works, how to implement it, and compare it to other two-factor authentication solutions available on the market today. Parkview Adventist Medical Center Clinicians Get Security at Their Fingertips With Imprivata OneSign | 2008-06-01 | Imprivata |
| Chief Information Officer Bill McQuaid set out to combine all the institution's data into one single vendor Health Care Information System (HCIS). After evaluating a number of options, McQuaid determined that Meditech with advanced clinical applications would best serve Parkview's needs. At the same time, McQuaid saw an opportunity to strengthen security and relieve the clinicians' login/logout pains by deploying a Single Sign-On (SSO) solution combined with finger biometrics. In working with Forward Advantage, a partner that Parkview had worked with in the past, the search quickly led them to Imprivata OneSign, a non-intrusive, easy-to-install appliance that helps organizations strengthen network and application security by enabling easy, secure SSO to any application - Web, client/server, or legacy.
